Making a mashup movie using only a cell phone, wouldn’t that be the ultimate democratization of a creative gesture?
« If mashup has become the ordinary prose for digital interactions, in a sense where we get to express ourselves through the most of the time already existing contents, the cell phone as a writing tool allows to have daily conversations, that we can qualify as creative. In the context of the Mashup Film Festival, it matters to consider this basis of prosaic remix uses and to work towards the development of the poietic practices of the mashup, using the cell’s tools and resources. This workshop will give the opportunity to both a reflection on the use of cell phones and mashup, but also a hardware practice thanks to apps and existing or to-create works. » Laurence Allard, lecturer SIC, IRCAV-Paris 3/Lille 3
